Dear Readers,

I've changed since I started my blog not too long ago. It's been great. Okay, now I sound like I'm breaking up with someone. My blog needs a facelift. And the title, Seriesly Ready, seriously? I assume it is some what unique in the sense that I haven't come across it before. Still, I want something more memorable. I want my blog to be welcoming and nice. So, the question I have for you all will be up on the poll located in the top right corner for the next 2 weeks for you all to help me decide. I can be an adult and make my own decisions, but some input would be nice.

I volunteer at an elementary school during the week. Yesterday, I was read one of the cutest little stories. Couldn't help but smile at the end. Fox Makes Friends is simply adorable. You don't have to read it, obviously, but if you do it might make you smile, too.

I haven't managed to get any entries. I think I may have entered, but I'm not sure. Holes by Louis Sachar

Holes was originally read to me in elementary. This is my first time, technically, reading it. My experience and impression of it now is much different from back then. For those of you who have never read Holes, let me tell you it is really good.

I can also say it is original. Whoever heard of a Camp where boys go to dig holes to build character? If you've read Holes you have. If not, why not see if you like it. None of the boys at Camp Green Lake enjoy it very much.

Due to Stanley Yelnats no-good-dirty-rotten-great-great-grandfather he had the choice of Camp or jail. He chose camp thinking it would be fun, plus his parents could never afford to send him. There Stanley makes some discoveries about himself and why they dig Holes. Sachar weaved a really good story. I love how he placed the flashbacks. Without them, I don't think the story would be half as good. It isn't amazing, but well worth reading. Giving us the background information brought a lot of life to this story and made for a unforgettable children's book.

Stargirl as a person was, amazing. It takes a lot to be you, when everyone else wants to be "them". Whose to say who you should be? For a while, no one could tell Stargirl she was anything or should be anyone other than who she was. That aspect of the book was great. Stargirl as a whole wasn't that fascinating. I like it, don't get me wrong. It's just sometimes it was hard to actually enjoy it.

I didn't get stuck at any points, it's just that sometimes it was a bit dull. Overall the theme and concept is really nice. Anyone who wants a little inspiration should definitely read Stargirl.

I love Children's Lit

I really enjoy Young Adult Novels, but I love Children's Lit. Both genres are by far my favs. That's why over the course of the next six months I plan on revisiting some of my favorites and hopefully, finding some new ones.

On the Agenda:

The Harry Potter Series (Just finished the first book a few days ago. This will be my first time actually finishing the series. My mother wouldn't let me read them anymore, but now since I'm older, I can.)

The Earth's Children Series (Have never read this one, but remember reading what it was about in high school. After hours of searching I finally got the name of the first book.)

The Chronicles of Narnia

Marry Poppins (Have never read, but love the movie.)

The Time Series (I read A Wrinkle in Time, but none of the other books.)

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series

A Variety of Picture Books and many more.

The Beaumont family aren't super heroes, but the abilities they possess is only something you'd read in a comic book. On the thirteenth birthday most of them acquire their savvy. Over the years Mibs has been able to witness her brothers receive the savvy to create hurricanes and electricity. Now it's finally her turn. She hopes to get something amazing. Before her birthday her father gets into a terrible accident and can not wake up. What at first was a wish to receive a great savvy becomes a quest to save her Poppa. By breaking some rules she learns things about herself, growing up, and others that she never thought to know and may be the difference from saving her Poppa.

It is very good. At a certain point I started to get really wrapped up in the story. From that point on it was splendid. Absolutely fun. This is a very enjoyable read, I'm sure anyone of any age can appreciate. I've never been on a road trip until now. Found myself getting a little caught up. Most everyone has some savvy; after reading I felt more special somehow.

Suzanne Young Interview

This past week has been very exciting. It is my pleasure to post my first interview with Suzanne Young, author of The Naughty List (set to be released February 4, 2010), the first in the Naught List Series. My love for series is well known; this series is especially special. It's original and from what I hear fun and really good.

1. Most authors feel they’ve always had a knack for writing. Do you think you fall into this category?

I’ve always liked to write. Not sure if I ever felt that I was great at it, but I’ve always loved dialog. So, even back in my really awful 7^th grade short stories starring my friends, the dialog was totally believable! The Pillsbury Dough Boy… not so much.

2. Do you throw yourself into your writing first, or do you have to think a lot through before hand?

Um… I don’t usually think. I just write until my fingers are numb and my husband has to have an intervention to make sure I eat. But really, I love to fast draft, then I usually go back when I’m done to add the layers.

3. I read in an interview at /- La Femme Readers -/, that you had a vision of ninja cheerleaders. Does this mean the girls in the SOS literally kick butt, or is that against the rules?

Well, the girls in The Naughty List are there for investigative purposes only. But… it wouldn’t be right if there weren’t at least one catfight, right?

4. Speaking of the rules, could we go into a little more detail on them. Or is that one of the things that could possibly spoil our future reading pleasure?

In the book there is the SOS Charter, but there are definitely rules to spying on cheating boyfriends. For example, never be spotted at the scene of the cheat. Or better yet, never hookup with a suspect!

5. Just to clarify, the Society of Smitten Kittens, only consist of females? If so, what happens if one of them cheats? Is their punishment similar to what their male counterparts receive?

SOS doesn’t exact justice but only confirms suspected cheaters. The society is made of the cheer squad, which unfortunately doesn’t have any male members. But now you’ve given me a great idea…

6. Please tell us five things you love about your job. And one you really detest.

Things I love:

1. I work in my pajamas.

2. I can work from anywhere, as long as I have my laptop.

3. When I write a story I live in that world. And sometimes, it’s a really fun place to be.

4. I meet some really cool and creative people.

5. I get to write for teens—and that’s pretty dang awesome.

Things I don’t love:

Having patience, because the publishing world? Not exactly fast-paced.

7. How do you feel about people snooping?

Personally? Sheesh… I’m not sure I should answer it either way! If I say I understand because I myself have been guilty of it, people might start looking for all my ex-boyfriends and ask them about me. And if I say I think it’s horrible and insecure, I’d be dissing my cheerleaders. So… I’ll say, “Trust your gut.”

8. Recently, I’ve noticed that some authors make playlists during the process of writing their books. What did you do to help stimulate those creative juices?

I sometimes make playlists. I haven’t really done any lately, but that’s because my children are home and their yelling is enough music for my ears. Kidding. I actually love to check into a hotel for two days when I’m about halfway through a book to clear my head and work in private. I get huge chunks of writing done in that time.

I first heard about Suzanne Young at /- La Femme Readers-/. Her first novel in The Naught List Series, The Naughty List, seems to be much more different than what I've been hearing of and digesting recently. That's my own fault, because I read pretty much the same things all the time. I need to branch out.

What I've been waiting for for the past six months, beside Catching Fire, is a good, fun read. I want to read something that excites me. It's not that I haven't been excited, though that isn't saying much. Practically every time I come across a book that's new to me and has an awesome cover or intriguing synopsis, I get excited.

I'm not a huge fan of The Naughty List's cover, but I'm willing to believe that it is not a reflection of the content of the story. I usually say the opposite. Sometimes I feel that publishers, or whoever is responsible for the cover art, make their selections based on how good they believe the story is, or if they wish to make a quick sale. Synopsises can be very misleading. That's why I don't really trust them. They make practically every book sound amazing. Sure, the same can be said for book covers, but I'm still sticking to my theory.

If you made it this far, I promise I will not be taking the shine off of Suzanne. Hope that it all goes well.

Tessa Crimson: Cheerleader by Day, Spy by Night

This cover was very confusing at first. I’ve read that authors don’t have much say on the cover. So I can't blame Suzanne. The teens seem to be enjoying themselves. So I take it, that’s not Tessa. And the blinds are supposed to illustrate what happens behind closed doors, maybe. Then there's all that lingerie. Oh, he's definitely cheating. I really want to read this book. It's different and seems like it'll be a lot of fun. Fun is what I'm after.

I initially got it so I'd be able to comment on the 10ers blog. It has the potential to be my new obsession. Next thing you know, I'll have a Facebook and MySpace. What's happened to me?

Here's a little of what I posted on my profile there:

A good dreamer, that's not a very good doer. That's the best way to describe me. It's rare that I stick to commitments. I never really try at anything. Guess that makes me lazy. I'm not really trying to work on that, though. Books, Hulu, the World Wide Web, potatoes, and sweets are making me fat. On second thought, it's my inability to commit to an exercise regimen and eat right that's doing it.

Could lie and say I've always wanted a push lawn mower. I haven't though. Boy, that's redundant.

Today I came across fancy push lawn mowers, they're called ecomowers. It's great for the environment, because they aren't expelling gas or harmful chemicals. But, there's always a but; they are pretty pricey, hence the use of fancy.

Who knew I had to pay at least $149 plus tax to get my dream. (Believe me, I've tried to find a push lawn mower. I guess only trying to get it for cheap, or better yet free, has put a stop to that.) Guess it really does pay to be GREEN. We (if we choose) pay more than the environment. It's obvious you have to have green in order to be green. Note: This deserves future consideration.

I hate it when people make everything about money. That's one of the reasons I don't have it. Most of mine is hidden (books are a great way to save) or in savings (I'm not rich, but don't buy things very often).

Let me pose a question: DO YOU THINK "BEING GREEN" IS A TREND?

Everyone wants to be so trendy these days. What are your thoughts? I'll assume if I don't get at least 5 responses to this post that no one really cares, so if you're out there I want to know. If not, I'll refrain from putting my thoughts (other than my reviews) on this blog.

Mandy Hubbard, the author of Prada and Prejudice, is giving someone that opportunity.

This is one of those times when I wish I had the self discipline to write something. Having all these ideas is useless, if I'm not applying myself. Yesterday, Aug 1st, as many of you know, was the actual release date for Michelle Zink's Prophecy of the Sisters. The reviews for her book have been glowing, so if you haven't read it, I suggest that you do. I will be posting my review this week.

Michelle has graciously offered up some fabulous prizes for my readers, in connection with a contest that I will be hosting here for the entire month of August. Entrants need to watch one movie a week and then blog about it (a movie review) with a link back to my blog as well as Michelle's. You have to mention Prophecy and post the cover in order to be eligible.

First Line

The moment the door opened I knew an ass-kicking was inevitable. Whether I'd be giving it or receiving it was still a bit of a mystery.

Technically, this first edition of First Line includes 2 sentences. They are both so good, I couldn't resist.

These lines came from Stray, the first book in The Shifters series, by Rachel Vincent.

I have a lot of high hopes for this series. Something about this author makes me think this will be a great read.

certainly isn't for charity either. That mostly depends on the way you look at it.

It's been years since I've ridden a bike. Some lovely ladies and/or gents have made it possible for me and you to win one. If the prize is anything like the one shown, there is a nice place to put a few books.

In both of my towns the library isn't that far from where I stay. Plus, riding a bike is good for your body, which means it's good for your mind, and the environment. There, I made this post about books and the environment.

Sometimes it's best just to let things go.

Most people claim they don't hold grudges. Now maybe this may only apply to me, but you are usually one of the main people holding a grudge. When you finally vocalize how you feel about a matter it shouldn't pop up ten weeks later.

Let things go. You'll be a whole lot less stressed. And maybe next Wednesday, I'll know it's Wednesday, instead of trying to convince my mom it's not.

At this point, I mostly review YA. I like more than that. Let's regress back to picture books. I've decided that since I really love children's books, that I'll include them every once in a while.

The Magic Nesting Doll
by Jacqueline K. Ogburn
Illustrated by Laurel Long

This book was one of the most beautifully illustrated books I have seen ever. The oil paintings are so beautiful. Man, I wish I could paint half that good. This is sad, what I'm about to say next. The story was good too, but the paintings: exquisite.

Now let me praise the words. Like most fairy tales, you have a fairly good idea about what will happen. To me this was a Snow White in reverse. Instead of the wicked stepmother envying a young maiden for her beauty; there's a young Tsarevitch whose uncle envies him for his power. You can figure out the rest.

Katya lives most of her life with her grandmother. Before her grandmother passes she leaves Katya with one final gift, a little matryoshka, nesting doll, with the ability to help her three times. Naturally she leaves. She learns from an innkeeper about a curse that the Tsarevitch had been placed under causing him to be living ice and resulting in winter without thaw, night without moon, and dark without dawn. Katya makes out in her mind that she can break the spell. While setting out to do this she encounters some obstacles, but doesn't quit.

Wings

The cover is so beautiful. It fits perfectly with the story. When I initially picked up the book I didn't really know what to expect. I try to avoid reviews unless absolutely necessary. (It's so easy for others' thoughts of something to pollute mine.) That's why I have only read one review of Wings.

Stephenie Meyer said this is "A Remarkable Debut." I obviously don't know the definition of remarkable, because I didn't feel that way. However, it was highly entertaining. I didn't get bored at any point. This is a really good story. And Stephenie said it perfectly on the back cover: "the ingenuity of the mythology is matched only by the startling loveliness with which the story unfolds. "

Laurel is a blossoming teenager. What better way for her to grow than in public school. She is forced to attend, because her family left their land and hope to sell it soon. Laurel doesn't like it at first, then she makes friends with her first acquaintance, David.

After getting adjusted and making another friend things seem fine, great actually. Then after dealing with what at first seemed like acne she sprouts what appear to be wings. Now how is that at all possible? On a trip back to their old home with her mother, she meets a young man that just might have the answer. The only is, is knowing going to make things better, or are things just going to get a whole lot more complicated?

Final note: Wings is really fun at times. I really like all of the characters. Pike did such a good job at creating this great story. Unless you are just obsessed with fey, this book might surprise you. The only negative I have, is that Laurel seems to be selfishly giving herself emotionally to two guys. That hasn't really worked out good in my book. I like her now, but if she continues to toy with these guys emotions, I will not like her.

Along for the Ride

Do you remember the first time you rode a bike? The first time you felt accomplished? Like you were in control, if even for a few seconds?

That's how it was the first time I rode a bike without skinning my knee caps afterward. The rode seemed endless, because I wasn't limited to just the sidewalk in front of our house anymore. Now, I could go all the way down to corner and turn back around. It took a while for me to get there. There was the aforementioned skinned knees and other cuts and bruises, but when I finally got there, it was amazing.

Life isn't about being perfect. Everyone knows that, or at least I think they do. Perfection isn't ideal, it's a dream. Life isn't a dream. The reality is you have to take chances. If you aren't going to get on the bike and ride, you'll never know how good it can be after the fall. That's what I felt like reading my first Dessen novel.

Auden isn't necessarily in control of her life. The summer before college she decides to spend the time with her father, his wife Heidi, and their newborn. To everyone who knows her she's predictable. She never does anything that is displeasing to her family from what I could tell, until she changes her plans.

There are a lot of good secondary characters who I enjoyed a lot more than Auden. Her tone was a little irritating at times. It wasn't that she thought she was perfection, it's just she didn't know how to change, at one point. This was mostly about her learning to deal with the past. Not blaming herself so she can move on with her future.

She didn't have to be an adult child anymore. Even though technically she is nearly an adult. But does anyone ever grow up. Just because she was raised by her parents to be superior: more mature, intellectual; didn't mean she couldn't be her own person. She's learning to live her life for herself. Learning to have fun with it.

There are a lot more things going on in this novel. You'll have to read it to find out.

Got this from the Anne on College blog. I don't keep commitments very well. Mostly do in part to my ever changing interests and disorganization of thought and action. I may start something then leave it completely. Not the best thing, but I don't do it on everything.

I found this today. Just pretend for two minutes it's Wednesday, then you can return back to Friday. Aren't you happy it's Friday.

Procrastinating is bad. No explanation is necessary. I finally get that, a little late, but at least I know.

P.S. I Loathe You (Clique Novel #10)

As premature as it is, considering I'm practically an adult (according to my parents I am one). Even though I can hardly relate to anything Lisi ever writes about, I love this series. I really do. Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me. I occasionally get laughs and find them to be fun reads, but where's that thing that makes you just love a book? Maybe if I was younger and had girlfriends, and Prada products, I'd get it.

There is more to drama than fights and breaking up. Apparently that's mostly what they do. It isn't anything new. Still somehow I wish Lisi would add a different layer to her storyline than just the drama. Then again, the characters wouldn't be who they are. She really needs to give us a break and add something refreshing. Once again, the preteens are fighting over boys, instead of focusing on their studies. Doing almost anything they want, because most of them are well off. Giving in to peer pressure. I have to say I'm starting to like Dylan a lot more though. A word of advice, sometimes you can't always listen to your friends *cringe* sometimes, you need the advice of your Mother or a motherly figure.

What do I expect really. I just wish the girls would grow up. Maybe I'm growing out of the series. Or maybe, she's taken it as far as it can go. I will be reading, and hopefully reviewing Alphas, her newest series soon. Maybe I'll find what I'm looking for there. If not: bye bye PC, MAC, and Lisi.

Note: I will review the rest of the series, once I read them again. Maybe if I review what I love, I will continue. I'm going to do it anyways, because I hate not knowing what happens.

This is going to sound silly. Before last year I didn't know that books had trailers, or at least I can't remember any before being on the World Wide Web became an addiction. If you are one of the lucky few not to have that problem, stay that way. It's awful.

A new hobby of my mine is looking at book trailers. I might even make one of my own one day.

Cuddling up with a nice box of chocolates and a good book. Who wouldn't want to do that at least once a month. I'd understand if you have allergies or something, but for everyone else you have no excuse.

Believe it or not I've know more people who didn't like reading than dislike chocolate.

Lost in Books started this back in January. I recently became aware of it. It seems like a good challenge to be involved in. Unfortunately, I hardly doubt I'll make it. Not the type of attitude you should have when you go into something like this, just being realistic. The deadline to read 9 books, 6 are required and 3 of them my choice, is December 31, 2009.

Since it is a rarity that I commit to or complete anything, I have to say regardless of if I complete it or not, I'll be proud I tried.

Back in the 19th century girls and young women weren't taught to fight. They were taught to be respectful, gentile, subservient, and rely on men for protection. Which is not all to different from what we occasionally get these days. Most of them where raised to be young ladies, plain and simple. If you've been following this series, you know that is one thing Jacky Faber is not. Sure, she can put on an act and act like a lady thanks to her training at the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls, but who are we kidding. Thankfully that didn't really matter. There is no way she could charm herself out this one. Nope, not at all.

After the British government put out a price on her head for piracy she rows her way into the Boston Harbor, and proceeds to her old school. Not without a few detours at first; making amends with Amy, talking to her lawyer Mr. Pickering, finding ways to make a profit; you know, the usual. After a little while they're back at school. Everything seems good, are as good as it will be considering the fact that her archenemy Clarissa Worthington Howe is back, with a slave, none the less. All of the loathe they share towards one another soon dissipates, although not entirely, because the girls are in for the cruise of their lives. They have become captives of the slaver, Bloodhound. The only chance they have of not being sold to North African Harems is if they get some grit and fight. Let's be honest though, what can a bunch of young ladies do against brutes. Guess it's a good thing one of them isn't much of a lady.

The girls, with the exception of Amy and Jacky, ticked me off. Suppose I can understand where they where coming from, but still, they seemed so impossibly helpless. It wasn't entirely their fault, it's how they were raised. If you are a young, well-mannered snob...I mean, lady, then you will do well and good things will happen to you in life. It's a belief they are tainted with. That's why I can't say this is one of my favorites. But, I will say, that I enjoyed it, a lot.

Fade by Lisa McMann

Much more exciting than Wake. If you read my review of it's predecessor, you must know how disappointed I was.

When you first hear about the book, 'A girl who can travel into peoples' dreams.' Wow! What an original concept. Fade has to be what makes me want to continue this series. The characters are wonderful. The only exception are the predators, that McMann has Janie and Cabel hunting in this one.

As you know from the conclusion of Wake; Janie and Cabel have become a team in the fight against crime, as undercover investigators. She is taking up the position of dream catcher that was once held by her deceased mentor. Who as it turns out, still has a connection to Janie and has left her something invaluable behind. In addition to trying to catch sexual predator(s), Janie has to decide if she really wants to know what she's capable of and if knowing what's to come is something she can bare.

This book wasn't as predictable to me. The way McMann weaved the storyline, dialogue, and dream imagery together, made it difficult for me to catch the predator(s). It's like she let you know who it was, but at the same time it was such a shock. Anytime an author can surprise me, the way she did, I have to give them credit.

It was so believable what was going on at Fieldridge High. Add to that the strain on Janie's life, and it came out perfectly. Her attempts at finding a balance between work, her ability, and her relationship with Cabe made this more exciting. I felt an empathy for the characters that I don't think I've ever really felt before. Strange really. I loved it. Again, it wasn't amazing, but I quite enjoyed it.

Note: I'm still not sure if I'm using empathy right. Or if it should be sympathy. If I'm wrong please let me know.

A lot of the time I look at self help books as a way to make easy money. People want to better themselves. That's no wonder they always sell so well, I guess.

Despite that fact I still enjoy them.

New Discovery

I love, love, love watching movies. Almost as much as reading books, but not quite.

I've noticed I have a tendency to try to do too much. It is the second day of August, and I've failed miserably. Last month I had a huge reading list, which by the way I think I only managed to read 2 out of 9. Could give you excuses like; Confessions of a Shopaholic was so boring. The movie was really fun and good, by the way. For some reason I've decided to take Nancy Pearl's advice and read at least 50 pages. Didn't care to much for the first 50 pages, but will continue through the next.

At this point I've forgotten what that New Discovery I was going to tell you about was. Oh well, I'll try again latter. Wait, I remember. Turns out my college town has a dollar theater nearby. So, although they may be a little late, I still plan on doing more Book/Film Reviews.

Dragon Speaker: The Last Dragon, isn't going to be Eragon. Whenever I read it, I will try to keep that in mind and be as unbiased as possible.

For me, if I've read something before I am a little harder on judging. So I'll try to not be closed minded and be open to the possibility that there are other good dragon tales out there.

I'm thinkin' about adding her to my to read list for next year. Her next release will be Scars spring of 2010.

Think I might literally finish all the books there. It isn't even really the size of my current library's first floor.

I usually get happy when I go into a library. This one made me sad. I'll appreciate any place that allows me to read...it's just upsetting.

Haven't checked out the catalog. Probably will have to purchase my books from now on. They really need a grant or something. Maybe I should make that a project.

I see a lot of blogs do this. My definition of good may not be the same a some one else's. So, I should try to clarify. My ratings are usually determined by my mood, sadly. I'll make an effort though.

I'll probably never give out a 5. That's supposedly perfect. And nothing ever written is perfect. When I do give out let's say a 4.75, for instance, it's probably because the book made me happy and want more. That is probably the highest I'll go. I don't even think Twilight could get that.

Again, since I'm moody, this whole scale could be invalid. I'll try to control it though.

Book/Film Review Howl's Moving Castle

It would be so easy to simply compare and contrast. I feel that would be giving too much away. So, I'll make this as brief and nice as possible.

I love both the book and the film. There isn't a preference. (The image on the right uploaded that way.)

There were some things included in the book that I wish they had put into the film. I won't complain about those though. You can find a synopsis of the book at barnesandnoble.com.

The gist of the story is as follows:

An ordinary girl, with a latent ability (not included so much in the film, but still present), sets out to cure her curse (book/film) and seek her fortune (in book). She figures that since she is already an old lady she might enjoy the life she has for once.

Sophie Hatter, leaves her hat shop and begins her quest. Along the way she encounters a scarecrow and a dog (in book), before making her way across the waste and wondering into Wizard Howl's moving castle. There, she makes a contract with the fire demon Calcifer. While trying to free him of his contract, in order to break her curse, she must put up with the Howl, and avoid further confrontation with the Witch of the Waste.

In the film, they focused more on war and Howl's part in it. The book seemed to focus more on the characters relationships and the drama as a result of all different things happening. Like the prince and Wizard Suliman missing (book), Howl's courtship, how much the witch hates them, etc. You'll have to read the book, to truly appreciate the film. Things will be more clear.

You have to admire Diana Wynn Jones writing and the way Hayao Miyazaki was able to bring it to life. He took some liberties to personalize it to his style, but the end result was just as amazing as the story that inspired it.

My rating for both will be a 4.75.

I've been seeing the book cover for at least two months. Over the past few weeks I have found at least two contests offering Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev.

The cover alone is breathtaking. Before I read a synopsis or review, the cover got me. If I didn't know what I know about the book now I would read this just for the cover.

I thought it had something to do with fairies. According to Amazon.com it's more than that.

I'm going to take a bit from one of my favorite blogs. Chick Lit Teens has this annual installment, You Can't Judge A Book By Its Cover...Or Can You? I hope she doesn't mind. I'm going to deviate from that just a bit.

Starting next month I am going to pick up a few books based on nothing else but the cover. Then I'll start a semi-annual installment entitled, You Can Judge A Book By Its Cover...Might Be Wrong Though. Doesn't sound too good, but I'll try it for a while and see how it works out.

This probably isn't new news to Wicked Lovely fans. I was really looking forward to Skin Starved. I mean, do you hear that title. Say it out loud, if need be. What a title.

Now, Radiant Shadows isn't bad. It's quite lovely actually. Does that mean this is going to be a happier book. (Haven't read the synopsis yet.) Not that the others were depressing, but you know. It is a beautiful title.

I wonder what made her change it? (I should really follow the authors I love more closely. I don't have time to be a stalker though.)

As you all know there is tons of information on the World Wide Web. I'll try my best to give you book news you might actually enjoy, and more timely next time.

Contest Advice

While I haven't had much luck winning lately, I have a little advice. I'm not sure who I got this from. My two main sources when it comes to entering contests, are Sweetie's Sweeps and About.com contest columnist Sandra Grauschopf.

One of them, I'm leaning towards Sweetie, said to space out you entries on blog contests. So even if you do everything at once try to wait a while before you put that down. Unless the rules don't permit that. She also said to wait until after fifty people have entered, because if they are using random.org it usually chooses numbers higher up.

It was worth the wait. I hope that eventually Seth can say the same thing. Which I'm sure he will. Since I'm a novice at book reviews, and hate spoilers, I'll try to make this as un-boring as possible, and short. The first few have been a bit much.

Seth Morgan has finally decided to stop hoeing around, and stick with one woman, Aislinn, the immortal, the Summer Queen. He has become a part of the World of Fae, but not the way he would wish. Seth wants to be there for her, forever. He doesn't want to be limited by how finite he is. The question is whether he can accept the cost of eternity.

Yeah. I know you are probably thinking, 'How lame, couldn't you do better than that?' I might.

Aislinn has now become a main figure in the world she once avoided. After being taught to fear, and avoid faeries, she's one of them. A royal, the Summer Queen to Keenan, the Summer King. As summer grows nearer the ability to control the the urge to be his queen wholly is very difficult. They are drawn to each other by this connection. If it weren't for their other relationships, they would probably be more intimate. Which would strengthen the Summer Court, which has been weakened over the years, because of Beira, the deceased Winter Queen. Will there court be weakened by their arrangements, or will they be able to become one?

I'm looking forward to finding out that answer too.

Since the beginning, the relationship with Keenan has never been as she wished it. Donia, has a lot of decisions to make: for the good of her court, pride, and relationship. She doesn't want them to turn into his parents. She doesn't want just part of him either.

There is no way everyone can get what they want. It doesn't help that war wants to ravish the earth. Only one thing is certain. Eternity is Fragile.

LOL I am so bad.

The relationships aren't that complicated, but some are just sad. Donia, the Winter Queen, has a sad relationship, because Keenan can't be with her the way they want. Keenan is frustrated because Aislinn refuses to be his queen (Love him). Aislinn can't stand the idea of losing anyone (She's accepted it will happen, but wants to prevent it), especially not Seth. Seth will essentially decide how this will pan out.

I have a new found respect for Seth. His reasoning makes more sense than a lot of the other characters. (He doesn't have the full understanding of Faeries though.) So, that leaves us with all these faeries, who are trying not to kill one another, because of spite or jealousy. Then there's Bananach, war, who would gladly destroy them all, if she could. She is one of the more interesting characters. I look forward to seeing what will happen.

Wicked Lovely - Real Good

Would love to say that it was wickedly good, but will save that for Fragile Eternity, my favorite in the series so far.

This is probably my first book that deals with faeries. Then again, it may not be. Um. It has been at least 10 months since I last read it. So this is mostly through memory. I should reread the book.

Being Nikki: An Airhead Novel by Meg Cabot

I wish I hadn't read it. If I hadn't read Being Nikki: An Airhead Novel, I wouldn't be so pissed about how long I have to wait for Runaway, the sequel to Being Nikki, to come out. Boy, Meg Cabot really knows how to write a story. The last chapter was almost mind blowing. I mean I was kinda hoping what happened, would, but at the same time I didn't expect what is revealed. In it one of the characters, that may seem insignificant, plays a very crucial role, but I'll stop there.

Emerson Watts, known to most as Em, has been dead for months now, well, technically. Since an accident at a Stark store, she had to have her brain transplanted into another body. This allowed her to take over a supermodel, and become Nikki Howard. Obviously modeling isn't as easy as playing Journeyquest, Em and Christopher's (best friend before all this) favorite game. Turns out, even though Nikki wasn't a brainiac, she had a tough time. Which, was probably because of her stank attitude, and lust for ineligible guys.

Resolutions:

Em finally breaks it off with Brandon Stark, permanently. Still attempts to reveal her true self in hopes of winning the love of Christopher, but fears he has fallen for someone else. To make matters worse, he might have gone to the dark side. Then her sister Frida, raises hell (mostly throwing fits), because she can't get what she wants off her sister being Nikki; Em has changed in a bad way (Frida's and maybe her mother's opinion). In addition to her personal problems, Em must assist Nikki's brother on a quest to discover what happened to their mom.

In Airhead, it was stated that Nikki didn't really keep in contact with her family. Her brother shows up, Em had no idea Nikki had a brother, and demands to know where their mother is. The amnesia thing can only go so far in some cases, but she still manages to convince him, slightly, that she doesn't remember. Trying to help him find mom is difficult, because of Stark, and basically, if she hired someone, they'd probably uncover information about her operation. That's where Christopher comes in, unexpectedly, I might add. He has connections, and can acquire the information she needs if she meets his condition. She has to supply information, that he believes can take down Stark Enterprises, forever. In an attempt to make everyone as happy as possible, she ends up trailing something that could be the death of her, this time, for real.

This may have been giving away too much, even though it isn't very detailed. I want to say more, but it's more exciting to read, without already knowing the story.

Wake - fairly decent; Good

It’s bad when you have a nightmare. You know what’s coming, but you can’t do anything about it. You’re frozen in fear. When you dream, Janie Hannagan can’t sleep, because she’s in it.

Every since she was eight, Janie has been able to travel in peoples dreams. She gets to experience: the joy, hate, regret, and most often fear and terror that plagues the host. Now at seventeen, her ability is getting worse. Janie wants to finally take control of this, so she can handle the rest of her life.

If someone knew, two things could happen; they’d understand, or think she’s crazy and lock her up. She highly doubts the former will happen.

Now, most stories are predictable. I guess most authors don’t mind if you have the foresight. This was a decent read, but I wouldn’t call it good, but I also wouldn’t call it bad. I just wasn’t as in love with it as I am with so many other books.

The main characters all have somewhat dysfunctional lives. All of them seem neglected in some way. Someone said that you have to suffer to be interesting. I guess that’s what McMann was going for. I did find the characters interesting. I like them, too. All in All, it isn’t a bad concept, the final product, however, just wasn’t what I was expecting.

Note: After thinking it over, Wake, is actually a good read, not amazing, but good none the less. Must like it, because I'm looking forward to the final book, Gone, being released in February of next year.

I have no idea. About forty or fifty, I'm thinking, because it has been quite a few. I kept track for a while then stopped.

My goal for last year was to read fifty. Which I succeeded at. Now, this year I have decided to read at least one-hundred books by the end of this year. It seems quite a few people are doing that already so maybe I should try something else.

Since there are only six months left this year and I'll have a more strict schedule in the fall, I should try for something realistic. I'll go for fifty books like I did last year. Only this time, for every book I read I need to write five-hundred words, towards my book or on my blog.

I know, practically everyone wants to be a novelist. I just want to write. Although, I'll admit being a successful novelist would be nice. I'll stick to trying to write. Besides my audience has not found me, yet. Really need to work on promoting this blog.

Airhead - really good read

When Airhead was first released I wasn't paying much attention. I read a synopsis, I guess, but didn't really think about it. I focused mostly on the cover. Since the synopsis, cover, and title were unappealing I assumed it would be a predictable tale about a girl who becomes a model and Miss Popularity, every girl's dream. Wrong. The synopsis I read was very misleading.

I love Meg Cabot. I've read her more than any other author, because she writes really well. She develops characters, plots, and stories like it's nothing at all.

Airhead was no exception.

Modeling is revered by some, if you aren't one of those people, then you probably think that the whole occupation is for people with pretty faces and nice bodies, or, that it's simply a no brainer. The book doesn't try to protest that. It actually has a deeper meaning.

I don't want to rehash what you have probably heard plenty of times now, since it's been out for a while so...

Emerson Watts, isn't Miss Popularity; she doesn't have the boy she loves, the hottest clothes, best of the best, but she's smart. After a very unexpected accident she finds herself in the body of one of the hottest Supermodels, Nikki Howard.

Not the best thing I ever read, but still good. The second book in the series, Being Nikki, is so much better. Look for that review in a few days.

Wait Patiently for My Sister's Keeper to be checked into the library so I can check it out. The Same goes for The Time Traveler's Wife. I need to reread it. After I finish reading I plan on watching both of the films, then do two more Book\Film Reviews, which I love.

I am finally going t0 read the book that was the basis of one of my favorite movies, Howl's Moving Castle. I just got it ten minutes before closing at the library yesterday. It will give me an excuse to watch the film again, not that I need one.

On a more personal note; I have jury duty today, and I have to start exercising this week. Hopefully, I will stick to all these plans.

Have you heard of it?

I came across it at my library. Never heard of it before, but I have seen the last book advertised in the sale papers.

I fell in love (strong like of the character, not obsession) with Gregor from Suzanne Collin's The Underland Chronicles. That's why I went on a quest to find a new hero to admire.

Most of the books I read have a female lead. It's nice to read things through a guy's perspective for a change. Boys tend to be less whinny. Not to say they don't have issues. Cause they do. Still, reading through a guys' perspective is really fun.

The only thing I don't like about it, which can often occur in chick flicks as well, is that they always seem to have to rescue, the girl. Example of this being The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl by Barry Lyga.

While I'm waiting for these, there are a few books I've picked up, that I am equally anticipating.

A few months back I went to Teenreads.com. They have some of the best giveaways. If you haven't been to the site, you should. Teens make brief book recommendations. This is were I have learned about one of my favorite series, Bloody Jack, if you haven't noticed, as of late. Someone recommended Oh. My. Gods by Tera Lynn Childs. It seemed interesting. Went to the library, couldn't find it, and that was that.

I try not to buy books brand new, as a matter of fact I try not to buy books at all, since I'm frugal, or in other words, an eternal cheapskate. If I buy, it's usually from Amazon.com, garage sales, or find it book stores. I'm up for the hunt when it comes to a good book.

I will read it though. Just waiting for the library, or a very kind soul to drop Oh. My. Gods. in my lap.

The last book on my slide show, but I'm sure, not the least, is Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. This recommendation came from Chick Lit Teens book blog. It was a great review. I think the book has to be good, or whoever wrote that is just good at selling things. Can't wait to review it and all the others soon.

Tantalize

Finished Tantalize in one day. The book was really original, despite the fact that it dealt with vampires and werepeople. It happened to be a bit educational, as well. Educational in the sense that it incorporated some elements of the supernatural, that I was unaware of before reading.

I'm a Texan. A few weeks back, I decided I wanted to read some books written by Texans. That's when I came across Tantalize and Eternal, by Cynthia Leitich Smith. At first, I was thinking, ah, another vampire book (because they seem to be really popular today, everyone wants to write about them. And not everyone can write well.) After starting, I learned it wasn't just another vampire book.

The story is set in Austin, Texas. The angle and plot of the story were probably what first drew me in. Quincie Morris, a descendant of Quincey P. Morris (a vampire slayer; he helped kill Dracula), has a hybrid-werewolf boy friend, that she would like to someday be her boyfriend. The likelihood of that happening is very minute. Not just because he's a wereperson, but because he is soon to leave her forever, to join a pack, that will provide for Kieren in ways Quincie is unable to. Before this initial heartbreak she has to deal with the lose of a loved one.

Her and her Uncle Davidson have been planning to open a vampire themed restaurant; Sanguini's: A Very Rare Restaurant. A few weeks before the official opening, they have to go on a search for a new head chef. This leads to Henry Johnson becoming a part of their family. Not only can he cook well, he can also be very seductive in other ways.

The novel has a lot to do with trust. Should she believe someone who has only been in her life for a minute, or, a friend she has had since practically birth? The wannabe chef, or, her first love? What she decides alters her life in ways she never expected.

Quincie is Italian, I believe. In a lot of films, and things like that, it seems that they have strong family bonds. Which is why some of the things that happen in the story feel messed up. While I won't expose to you what that is in particular, I will make one final comment, that can be viewed as negative.

The ending sucked. It mostly sucked because it reminded me of something another author, no, as a matter of fact, a couple of authors did with their books. After finishing Tantalize, I couldn't wait to read Eternal. The problem: the characters are different, storyline, and theme.

Authors are artists. I know it is important for them to express themselves in their own way, but why. Instead of the following book continuing where the first left off, they want to give me more people to care about. That sucks. I just fell in love with, almost, everyone else, now, I have to start over, again. I'll stop b-ing. Eternal seems like it can be just as good as Tantalize. However, it is put on hold until I read some more books I actually want to.

First Book/Film Review - Twilight

There are probably a thousand of these out there, but here I go.

First off, I'm not obsessed with the Twilight Saga. Unless, you consider reading all the books more than three times obsessed. I am in strong like of it. Like any literary work it has flaws. Not that I'm much good when it comes to grammar, research, or anything, but that's the truth. Secondly, I will try to be as unbiased as possible. Which in most cases isn't much of a possibility. Lastly, if you haven't read Twilight, or seen the film, I will try not to ruin anything for you. Okay?

It wasn't until, maybe Sophomore year in high school, that I actually took an interest in reading for leisure. Now, it wasn't until my Senior year that I was introduced to Twilight by an acquaintance. This chance encounter, changed my life. Twilight is the book, that really got me reading. Before I had never paid much never mind to what I read as long as it didn't bore me to death. Then I get Stephenie Meyer's book, and I'm like, "This is so good". That may be an understatement for some, but for someone like me who spent most of their life just doodling, it's a big deal.

Now what makes Twilight so Good, you ask?
Well, if it was up to me to sell her books, they probably wouldn't be so successful. So, you can disregard or refute anything I say that doesn't suit the work's magnitude (No, I am not being sarcastic). If anything can gain the hearts of millions, then it must be magnificent. Only time will tell how great though.

Bella Swan (who from this point on will mostly be referred to simply as B.S.), moves back to Forks, Washington to live with her father Charlie, after her mother remarries. Given the high divorce rate in this country, I can see how some would relate to this circumstance. Then to add to that, she isn't that exceptional in any way, that is, if you don't consider clumsiness a exceptional trait (I don't see her being that clumsy, but apparently she is). Some people may think that she is extraordinary, because of their admiration of the character, but saying B.S. is extraordinary (Unless you are her undying love) is basically b.s. I'll let you make your own judgements about that. Meyer even says that B.S. is ordinary, though.

After the move she has to tolerate her new home. It's cloudy almost all of the time. She just came from Phoenix, AZ so that's a big adjustment. On top of that she has to start at a new high school, where she is throw in the spotlight, because the entire student body is the equivalent of her old class. At lunch, a group of students off on their own catches her attention. She learns from Jessica Stanley about the Cullen family. They are by far the most beautiful people she's ever seen. From that point on she is drawn in. The first time she is able to get near the youngest Cullen, Edward, she is shocked, and upset. He doesn't appear too friendly. To add to that he tries to switch his classes in an attempt to avoid her. This makes no sense to B.S. After this she wants to confront him, but never gets the chance. Some time passes, and she comes to expect that he won't be there, which is almost as intolerable as his behavior (Which I might add she's gotten over. Must be his face.). Then suddenly, one day he is there.

Edward tries to make an effort to be nice, which before Bella, wasn't a problem. She's charmed but frustrated with him. Her infatuation isn't helped with his cryptic ways. He saves her from being squashed by a van. This is when her curiosity and infatuation, or love, intensifies. They argue about the incident at first, but eventually agree to disagree. He allows her to take a guess at how he could achieve such a feat, to humor himself, but she can't figure it out. Since he obviously isn't going to tell her what's going on, she tries to find the answers another way. That's where Jacob Black, son of Billy, Charlie's good friend, comes in. One of the Quileutes makes a remark, "The Cullens don't come here" , while on trip to La Push beach with friends. This leads to B.S. tricking the answer out of her childhood playmate (probably only in film. I think his sisters in book.) He tells her the legend about the Werewolves (Quileutes) and the Cold Ones A.K.A. Vampires (Cullens). After doing further research this theory seems to make sense. B.S. is saved, once again, by Edward, and finally gives him an answer, the correct one, as to how he stopped the van.

From that point on they are nearly inseparable, until a few non-vegetarian vampires come to town.

A few holes and rough spots, but I think (hope) you get the gist.

Film

I am not a big fan of literature that I've already read being made into film. A lot of times, it doesn't seem to have the same heart and character that the work originally did. I miss out on what captured me in the first place. When you create these pictures in your head, then see them not created on film, it can be very disappointing.

It took me three tries, before I liked the film. I have read the book over three times. Now, what does that say about the movie. There are some things that were, basically, ridiculous. It didn't seem real. Okay, this is a work of fiction, based on a dream, but still, it just seemed silly at times. If it wasn't for my love of the characters I wouldn't want to see it again. Which I am so going to do.

They jumped into some things too quickly. The film was like two hours and something, but I feel it lost a lot of what made the book what it is. I couldn't get the same connections from the actors that I felt for the characters. Some how that was lost. Even the actors didn't seem connected at times. Edward, is supposed to be charming, even though, in my opinion he could be very controlling, and a little manipulative. Robert Pattinson's best part, was probably when he first introduced himself to Bella. He had me, but only for a little while. After that he just seemed, like a jerk, or some other bad things. Then the way Bella pursued him, was very frustrated. Kristen Stewart. It seemed like she was the main person not really connecting with anyone. Very disappointing. Maybe this was intentional, because Bella was already an outcast, freak, or whatever you wish to call her. At the same time, she didn't inspire me to root for her.

There are some events that occurred in the film that were silly. They wait until they get into the woods, so she can tell him, "I know what you are." I had to laugh. This was probably to illustrate the extent to which she trusts him and how scary, and serious this is, but really. Now, if Robert and Kristen weren't laughing their A's off while the camera were circling overhead, I don't know what to say. I suppose you can't be an actor unless you have discipline. But that obviously wasn't a concern.

I liked the liberties they took with a later scene. The ballet room scene was really nice. However, the action could have been more graphic. Given the fact they choose to show Kristen in her undies, making out with Edward in her bed. (I don't remember this from the book. Bella is supposedly an innocent. As a matter of fact, I don't remember them getting near hot and heavy until Eclipse. Ha.) Since a stunt man had a concussion, or something, for three days I can't say anything else negative about the fighting sequence. Great job dude.

This is probably a poor review. I hate spoilers, and would hate to spoil anyone else's experience of Twilight. There are some things in the book and film that I am sure I didn't help illustrate the best. So, my suggestion would be to read the book, and rent the film, or borrow it from your library.

Under the Jolly Roger: Being an Account of the Further Nautical Adventures of Jacky Faber

The third installment in the Bloody Jack series is even better than the first book. If you only like Bloody Jack, I'm sure you'll love this one. Don't let the length scare you. By the end you'll be wanting more. It seems Meyer has made the characters more stronger and thus more appealing, and his creativity isn't letting up.

I missed so much from the Curse of the Blue Tattoo: Being an Account of the Misadventures of Jacky Faber, Midshipman and Fine Lady, because I couldn't find it and still don't have it. Even though I skipped the second book (sinned), Meyer was still able to draw me into this story and inform me as well. He did it in a way that was straight to the point and didn't take anything away from it. An attribute Jacky possess, as well.

Jacky Faber makes her way back to her native land with the hopes of seeing her true love, Jaimy Fletcher. Even though she wears the clothes of a lady and has finer manners (when necessary)now, she isn't received the way she hoped. The culprit being a book entitled the same as the first in this series, telling everything she told a friend, Amy Trevelyne. Now that most of her life has been divulged it's no wonder Jaimy's mother did not receive her, with welcome arms.

She goes to find Jaimy, and in the process finds out about some of her old mates. It seems a few moved on to better lives, some not so good. When she meets one of them she does what she does best, help them out. After which she heads to the races in male attire, because it's inappropriate for a lady to attend without a male escort. She discovers her love to be quite cozy with a pretty girl, and runs away not waiting for an explanation. In the process of escaping she gets picked up by a press-gang, which is where the action starts happening.

On board the HMS Wolverine Jacky once again takes to nautical life, schemes, makes new friends, and maybe a few who could be more than friends, and most importantly tries to stop the captain's advances and put the death ship into proper working order, even if that means she has to take command.

Bloody Jack - Really good read

Bloody Jack: Being an account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's boy

It isn't easy being a girl in the 19th century. Especially when your family is deceased, you're an orphan, and have to be a gang member to survive the streets of London. The only thing guaranteed is death, then your corpse being collected and used for experimentation. Sure, that could happen, but only by choice. When the chance comes it must be taken. And take it, she did.

Mary Faber isn't illiterate. This allows her to occasionally earn a little extra money for her gang, The Rooster Charlie Gang. They were the ones who saved her from her first grip with death. After her mother and sister died; she was put out in the streets by Muck, the corpse seller, to die. Since then she has been with them, like a family. The daily grind is simple: beg, beg, keep territory, and survive. No one wants to come into Muck's grasp. Nor do any of them want to starve to death. Despite the circumstances, they all have dreams.

Mary wants to have her own ship one day, and become a merchant. She wants the chance to break free. At first this doesn't appear to be a possibility, but after the murder of a gang member, she decides to take a chance. Not knowing exactly what she'll do, her quest begins. Mary leaves her gang, and sets out to find her fortune.

If she were a boy a lot could happen. It is a known truth, that even a dumb, filthy boy can do anything better than a smart girl. Using her shiv she cuts off her hair and changes into boy's clothing. Then heads to the HMS Dolphin where they need six ship's boys. Her ability to read gets her the position. While signing on she changes her age and name to Jacky, her father's name. This transition brings about entertaining and sometimes funny happenings.

At one point in the story, I thought I had figured out how she got her nickname, Bloody Jack. The little red sister (a phrase gotten from Shanghai Girls), her period, is what I thought it was, but that wasn't it. I'll let you find out, because I hate spoilers, and even what I said before might have spoiled something for someone. The story is really nice. It is not your usual coming of age tale, if it can even be considered that. She along with all the other ship's boys grow throughout the story. Some even get promoted to higher ranks. Before any of this though, there are some problems: a pedophile trying to molest her, crushing on one of her mates, finding out about being a woman, and of course, keeping her true identity a secret.

I recommend this book and the rest of the series, to anyone who likes adventure, nautical life, and of course, a heroine.

Note: It can be slightly boring at times, but what good book isn't like that.

BookMooch. Have you heard of it?

I found it today. Well, technically, it's been on my favorites for about a year, but I don't recall ever using it. (That's kind of a habit of mine; Collecting things and never using them.) I haven't started using it yet, either. It does look like a pretty decent site though. I'm thinking I might start. They have a few copies of the Curse of the Blue Tattoo: Being an Account of the Misadventures of Jacky Faber, Midshipman and Fine Lady (Second book in the Bloody Jack Adventure Series).

Last week, I was trying to find a copy of the second book. Okay, getting off track.

Might have to pay for shipping, but I can handle it. It's bound to be less than buying a brand new copy, which I rarely do by the way, but it sounds more economic. Might try it with the books I promised my Momma I would get rid of last week.

Shanghai Girls - A good read

Shanghai Girl
A Novel by Lisa See

What I know about the Chinese zodiac, I learned from Fruits Basket. Other than that, I don't know much about China, and even sadder than that, Chinese Americans, and what they dealt with coming into American, and their treatment during the spread of Communism in China. This book was really educational to me, and I look forward to reading more of See's work in the future. In some ways this book was different. In others, it was sort of obvious what was going to happen. Not too predictable, but predictable none the less. There are some upsets, followed by several tragedies. Through all this though there is a lasting idea of hope.

Tradition and modernity and simple sibling rivalry, have a lot to do with this story. The two main protagonists, the sisters, Pearl Chin and May Chin, eldest and youngest, respectively, fight to decide what they believe in, and what they want. Now, when it first started off, they can seem like pretty pampered princesses. That may be the case to some, yes, they are spoiled, but they are still just like children, inexperienced and growing. They aren’t that young, 21 and 18, but I still consider that to be a very difficult age. They are being meant with all the pressures from society; associates, friends, and having to deal with the expectations of family. (I had no idea that they were that strict. I have to admit I like the way they honor their elders and ancestors, but my feminist side wants to jump out, so I’ll leave it at that.) While they are fighting tradition and trying to hold to their modern beliefs, they began to fight one another. Eventually, they come to accept what is, and try to move pass past hurts. It takes them over a decade to get there.

Depending on the way you look at it. You could say after reading this that everyone is in charge of there own destiny, and you can't just sit back and choose to be a victim of the past. You can’t blame things on fate. Only you are in control. Can’t control everything, but you are in control of your life.

Note: My opening line might have been a little off, but if you read the book you’ll see why I mentioned it.

That isn't a title of a book (as far as I know). It's simply a statement of fact. I am long winded. Or, as my mother would say, type-winded. I apologize for that. I also apologize in advance about my sidetracking. It's a habit.

There has never been a series, I've read, that I haven't liked. No, I haven't read Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, but I'm sure I would like it. I like the movies, anyway. I just really love books period, and would like to share what 'I feel' with anyone who is interested. Granted, I'm not an expert. I hope the reviews and general posts aren't too horrible. I look forward to reading series and other materials as well, but book series are going to be my primary focus. Enjoy.
